Kerry Duke officiating. Burial was in Franklin Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Franklin, a farmer, died Saturday, January 22, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born January 11, 1914, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Bailey Dowell and Mary Ellen (Masters) Franklin. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include a sister, Elise Danner, Michigan; a special friend, Lola Belle Hawkins, Hilham; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Chris McCormick, Ordean Dulsworth, Douglas Lankford, Ronny Franklin, David Franklin, and Clay Franklin.
