Anderson County Sheriff's Department Communications Officer Betty Taylor has passed away. Betty died early Tuesday morning (12/6) following an extended illness, according to Sheriff Paul White. Taylor began her career as a dispatcher in 2005 and worked her way up Lead Communications Officer and evening shift dispatch supervisor. Sheriff White remarked that "Betty's experience and wisdom were invaluable to the department and her friendly smile will be missed." TAYLOR, BETTY - age 53 of Knoxville passed away December 6, 2011 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Leila Joiner. Survivors: son: Brandon Taylor & fiancée Rebecca Pyle of Powell; daughter: Kristi Watkins & husband Brennen of Clinton; grandchildren: Carson & Emily Watkins, Waylon Taylor; brothers: Gene & Jimmy Joiner; sisters: Carolyn Whitaker, Judy Bazyn & Linda Fox; best friend: Pam Silano. The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 5-7PM.
