GARRETTSVILLE - Betty Gean Ellison, 76 years of age, passed away Saturday January 18, 2014 at her residence. Born in Gassaway, West Virginia on September 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Willie Warden and Elsie (Dobbins) Conley. A homemaker, Mrs. Ellison had been a lifelong resident of the Garrettsville-Nelson Township areas. An avid Genealogist, she also was a gifted pianist, enjoyed gardening, loved music and will fondly be remembered by her family for her love of them and their love of her. Mrs. Ellison was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hiram Ward. On July 17, 1954, she married Arthur L. Ellison who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children Steven (Karen) Ellison of Mantua, Ohio, Brenda Jackson of Kent, Ohio and Cathy L. Ellison of Ravenna, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death in 2012 by her son Richard F. Ellison. Calling hours will be Tuesday at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday January 22, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6203 Pioneer Trail, Hiram, Ohio 44234.
