GLENVILLE - Betty Lou Skidmore Hamric, 76, of Glenville, W. Va., departed this life at 12:25 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation, Glenville, W.Va., following an extended illness. Born July 25, 1927, in Belfont, W.Va., Braxton County, daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Belle Carr Skidmore, Mrs. Hamric was a 1947 graduate of Gassaway High School, and was a resident of Glenville for over 50 years. She and her husband, Spencer Hamric, owned Hamric's Jewelry Store for many years. Mrs. Hamric was united in marriage to Spencer Hamric Nov. 15, 1947. Mrs. Hamric was a member of the Gilmer County Farm Bureau and an active member of the Church of Christ, Glenville, where she taught the youth class for many years. Mrs. Hamric was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Boggs; and two brothers, Dallas and Hunter Skidmore. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2004, at the Ellyson Mortuary,Inc., Glenville, W.Va. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, with Minister Gene Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway, W.Va.
