GASSAWAY - Carrell Leon Burns, 91, of Frametown, passed away September 12, 2019 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1928, in Gilmer County, a son of the late John and Florence Burns. Carrell retired from the WV Department of Highways as a welder. He enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed playing bluegrass music on his guitar. He was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Hashman Burns; grandson, John Carrell Fleming and stepson, Andrew Frame. Carrell was the last surviving sibling in his large family. He is survived by his wife, Ivy Frame Burns; sons, David Burns and John Burns; daughters, Carol Elaine George, Karen Fleming and husband, Curt of Creston, Connie Conley, Mary Moyers and husband, Bernard, Drema Gainer and husband, Mark and Lora Dgien; stepsons, David Frame and wife, Janice, Dennis Frame and wife, Kim and Albert Frame and wife, Doramae; 16 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; six step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Visitation wi be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, September 14 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Elder Larry Fisher officiating. Interment will be at the Crooked Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Perkins.
