Carrie Will's husband died in1936 and she is a patient at the Longview State Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1940 US Census. Four of her children John, Edward, Lucille Mae,and Robert are shown in the 1940 US Census at the State Orphanage in Hamilton County, Ohio. Carrie Was the daughter of George Will and Frances Katherine Popp. She was the mother of: Florence Lucille Wendling Glock and her twin brother Lawrence W. Wendling, George Wendling, Jr, John Christopher Wendling, Edward Wendling, Lucille Mae Wendling Warden, Robert Melvin Wendling and Clarence Wendling. There were two other children, Marie and her brother, John. Marie and John were adopted by James J. and Genavieve Hillman and re-named John Edmond and Corrine M. Hillman.
