On January 7, 1964, in Marion County, she married her soulmate Winfred Ritter. Together they had five children; Linda Lou, Karen Sue, Michael, Elizabeth, and Richard. Delores retired in 1994 due to heart complications. Before that, she worked as a cook at area long-term care facilities in Tipton County. She always enjoyed cooking for the residents and staff members and was well known to add her special touches in the meals she prepared. While working at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton, she cooked a meal for the entire softball team for the double elimination tournament they played in. She also worked at Tipton County Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant in her earlier days. She was devoted to the people she loved. If one was sick, she would help take care of them and prepare their favorite foods. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary in Sheridan. While there, she often worked as a bartender/cook. She had many hobbies and enjoyed sharing them with her loved ones. Some of her favorite hobbies included gardening, where she always had an abundant harvest that she shared with whoever she could. She also enjoyed landscaping and always had a beautiful yard. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she would sometimes decorate her home as early as October. It was a standing joke with her family about who would decorate their house first, and as expected, she would win. Another of her favorite hobbies was sewing, and she would make her own curtains and clothes. She even made dolls and their own clothes, sometimes by hand. She looked forward to going camping with her husband and family. She was very devoted to her family, and if it meant being with her family, she was there. Her first date with her husband was to the Kokomo Motor Speedway. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores is survived by her husband of 55 years, Winfred; children, Linda (John) Cromwell, of Nevada, Michael (Beth) Ritter, Elizabeth Richard, of Fairmount, and Richard (Robin) Ritter, of Sharpsville; grandchildren, Adria (Terry) Amos, of Tennessee, Jessica Cromwell, of Tennessee, Benjamin (Amber) Cromwell, of Russiaville, Stephanie, of Georgia, Sarah (Jake) Cox, of Sharpsville, and Samuel (Bianca), of California; great-grandchildren, Taylor, of Tennessee, Aubryn Amos, of Tennessee, Carolyn, of Tennessee, Katie, of Tennessee, Shelby Cromwell, of Russiaville, and Owen Cromwell, of Russiaville; siblings, Larry (Norma) Netherton, of Tipton County, Terry Netherton, of Tipton County, Chester (Judy) Netherton, of Tipton County, Debbie Bess, of Tipton County, Diane Stout, of Sharpsville, and Darlene Peters, of Atlanta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
