She was born June 20, 1918, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Dobbins Given. She was a former aide and ward clerk at Sacred Heart Hospital, Richwood. She enjoyed attending Love & Life Fellowship, singing, playing her guitar and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James Wilbur Boardman and Charles Luther Young. Surviving: five daughters, Heather Hancock of Hartwell, Ga., Mary Hiser of Mount Nebo, Carol Mathews of Upper Glade, Jane Stanley of Vermilion, Ohio, and Holly Young of Madisonville, Ky.; a brother, James O. Given of Buckhannon; a sister, Ada Maxine Rose of Birch River; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Love & Life Fellowship on Williams River Road, Cowen, with the Rev. Carmel Sanson and the Rev. James Hypes officiating. Burial will follow in the Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the church.
