7-14-2014: George Reed, son of William Eldad Reed and Elizabeth Smith Reed, was Christened on May 20,1731, at St. Nicholas Parish Records and Noncornf., Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England. Archives.com Same date 7-14-14: Genforum dated 9-10-2004, FYI: George Reed, 1804 VA (now WV) While reserching the early connenction to Methodism in some other lines, I ran across a reference to a George Reed. " The Journal and Letters of Francis Asbury. Vol. 1: The Journal 1771-1793. Epworth.Abingdon Press. pg. 446. West Virginia, Nov. 1804: "In the evening I preached in George Reed's house; and next day in the house of Elijah Phelps." Can't access earlier census recods, but the 1810 census does list an Elijah PHELPS in Woods vo., VA (now WV) and in a nearby county (Monogolia) is a George Reed.
