COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 06/28/1976 George W. Stephan, 71, of 920 Dresden Ave., died at 10 p.m. Saturday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He retired in 1967 as a tavern operator. Survivors include his wife, the former Lena W. Silliman; three daughters, Mrs. Eula J. Taylor of Hendersonville, Tenn., Mrs. Melva Moore, and Mrs. Judy Stivers; a son, T/Sgt. Norbert Stephan, with the Air Force at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Arch L. Heady Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Mr. Stephan is resting at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., where services will be conducted Tues. at 2 p.m. Interment Louisville Memorial Gardens.
