Daily Post Athenian Jack Rae Keith Sr. Jan 4, 2009 Jack Rae Keith Sr., 86, a resident of Parkview West Independent Living in Farragut, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2009, at Baptist Hospital West in Knoxville following a sudden illness. He was born May 22, 1922, in Knoxville, and was a longtime resident of Etowah. A son of the late Leo Keith, formerly of Concord, and the late Lucy Elizabeth Sloan Keith, formerly of Madisonville, he was a previous member of the Etowah Lions Club and the Masonic Chapter in Etowah. He was retired from BellSouth Telephone Company and also owned the Western Auto store in Etowah after his retirement from BellSouth. Survivors include one son, Jack R. Keith Jr. of Cleveland; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Keith Mann and Don Mann of Knoxville; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Chris and Catherine Keith of Alpharetta, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Marge Morgan of Englewood; one nephew, Jim Guffey of Englewood; and one niece, Marjorie Postell and husband, Pat, of Andrews, N.C. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Kingrea officiating. Burial will be private for the family only. There will be no visitation held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Animal Center, 3201 Division St., Knoxville, TN 37919-3207. Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
