He was a lifelong resident of Dayton, Ohio but was born in Hilham, TN. He was preceded in death by his mom, Cora Rader; dad, Jim Grider; 2 brothers, Arnold Grider and Bill Grider; and his late wife, Sarah Grider. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Bertie (Mary) Hoover and Patty Ladd; brother, Emkay Grider; 4 children, Charles Grider, Kathy (Grider) Fitchpatrick, Robert Grider Sr., David Grider Sr.; many grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Elizabeth, John Alan, David Jr., Kevin, Ashley, Ashley H., Joshua, Donnie, Andrew, Robert Jr., Amanda (Anthony), Chris, Heather, Dakota, Charles Jr.; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends, and his best friend RJ. Our dad loved his country, family, and the Lord. He is going to be missed by those that knew him. He worked for many years at Johnson’s Catering and a special thanks to Hospice for their love and care in our difficult time. He has left this world with a small piece of any one that knew him but he has left each and every one of us with a small piece of him. We love you dad! A visitation will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 from 5pm - 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A service will follow Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:30am. Burial will be at Dayton Memorial Park.
