Name: Joseph H Pennell Birth Date: 29 Jun 1933 Phone Number: 584-5508 Address: 5001 Mandalay Rd, Knoxville, TN, 37921-2124 (1993) Joseph Hill Pennell, Sr., age 83, died on September 25, 2016. The son of the late Wilbur & Reva Jo Pennell, he graduated Karns High School in 1951, he also attended University of Tennessee. A proud US Army veteran, he retired from Kenworth of Tennessee, he then drove for Gentry Trailways as a tour bus driver where he made many friends as he saw much of the country. He was a faithful member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church since 1947. Joe served his community for years as a member of several organizations: Beaver Ridge Lodge F&AM No. 366 since 1956 where he was a Past Master, Knoxville Scottish Rite, Coeur de Lion Commandery #9, Kerbela Shrine, and York Rite College. He also served as Knox County Commissioner from 1976 - 1982. Joe is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Launa Daugherty Pennell; son, Joseph Hill Pennell, Jr. and wife Kristi of Huntington Beach, California; daughter, Nancy Pennell Duncan and husband Guy of Littleton, Colorado; grandchildren, Lauryn Duncan Weaver and husband Justin, Taryn Duncan, Joseph Hill Pennell, III, Emily Pennell; and several friends who have been like family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28th from 5-7 pm at Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church. The Masonic & Memorial Service will follow at 7 pm, with Rev. Larry Dial and Rev. Henry Lenoir officiating. An Interment with Military Honors will be held at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, September 29th at 11:30am.
