JOINER, KATHERINE E. (GRANNY) - age 78 of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at the Parkwest Hospital. She was a member of the Tekoa Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Reynolds; her husband, Cecil Joiner; and a son, Kenneth. Mrs. Joiner is survived by 5 sons, Carlos Joiner and wife, Christine of Knoxville, James Joiner and wife, Rachael of Knoxville, Bill Joiner of Atlanta, Ga., Bobby Joiner of Knoxville and Jacky Joiner of Lenoir City, Tenn.; 2 daughters, Shirley Taylor and husband, Bill of Knoxville and Patricia Gardner and husband, Kenneth of Michigan; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 special friends, Christine Taylor and Sandra Turner; a very special thank you to the Dialysis Center at Farragut and to Dr. Cooley and her staff. In lieu of flowers, the family request that gifts be made to the American Kidney Foundation. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2002 at the Weaver Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Oakridge [sic Oak Ridge] Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
