Katherine (Moore) Morgan Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine (Moore) Morgan, 92, of Hilham, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, from Poplar Springs Baptist Church in the Poplar Springs Community of Overton County with Bro. H.S. Brown and Bro. Harlon Johnson officiating. Burial was in Poplar Springs Cemetery with Anderson Funeral Home of Gainesboro in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Morgan died Tuesday, May 28 at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina. She was a homemaker, a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a resident of the New Hope Community of Jackson County. Born January 1, 1910, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Florence (Moody) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Morgan. Survivors include seven sons, James Morgan, Austin Morgan, and Donald Morgan, all of Hilham, Cecil Morgan and Billy Morgan, both of Michigan, Robert Morgan, Lynchburg, and Clay Morgan, Cottontown; three daughters, Linda Morgan, Hilham, Maggie Dailey, Cookeville, and Louise Collins, Gallatin; a sister, Lucille Bromley, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.
