(DST) today in Gassaway Methodist Church for Mrs. Mattie Long, 87, "Aunt Mattie" of the annual West Virginia Folk Festival, who died Tuesday night. Mrs. Long, of Gassaway, gave demonstrations of spinning and weaving and sang West Virginia folk songs at the annual festival at Glenville. She. had been a favorite attraction with the exception of one year of the program. Mrs. Long was a member of the Gassaway Rebekah lodge and of the Gassaway Methodist Church. She died at her home after several months of poor health. Rev. Anderson Kingsley will conduct the service. Burial will be in Bealls Mill Cemetery at Gassaway. The body will be taken from Bartlett mortuary in Gassaway to the church one hour before the service.
