"Mae" Andres, 91, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. She died Sunday, Sept. 7, at Autumn Woods, New Albany. She was a volunteer at Rolling Hills Healthcare Center. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany where she was active in the Madonna Circle and the Quilting Group at Our Lady. She was a life long quilter, creating many beautiful quilts now treasured by her family. She was born on Dec. 27, 1916, in Floyds Knobs to the late John and Mary Missi Engle. Survivors include her daughter, Alice M. Banet, Sellersburg; son, Melvin H. "Andy" Andres and wife, Mary, Louisville; sister, Louise Elmer, New Albany; grandchildren, Kevin Schultz and husband, Rick, Brian McKean and wife, Susie, Kerry McKean and wife, Marcela, Dawn Isaac and husband, Thomson, Shelly Morrison, Beth Orth and husband, Dave, and Jason Andres and wife, Keri; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Hubert Andres; brothers, Edward and Lee Engle; sister, Bernadine Engle; and son-in-law, Paul Banet. Visitation at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 11 with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Masses.
