  • Minnie Mick-Phillips January 15, 1920 - July 7, 2010 Minnie was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Ben & Lillie Nickles. She was the 7th of 10 children. The family moved to Pomona, CA where she attended the Pomona Christian Church and accepted Christ at the age of fourteen. She graduated from Pomona High School in 1937 and married Lewis Mick in 1938, a young preacher, who was a widower with two boys. They ministered in Visalia, CA where two children were born to Minnie & Lewis. They also ministered in Tarzana, CA in 1947 and then Orland, CA in 1965. Minnie became the Librarian at San Jose Bible College until 1986 during which Lewis and Minnie went to Springdale College in Wooley, England to set up their new library. She served as their librarian for 8 months. Lewis passed away and she returned to San Jose Bible College. In 1989 she married Woodrow Phillips and moved to Turner Retirement Homes. She and Woody traveled to 47 countries and did mission work in Zimbabwe for five months living in a round hut with a thatch roof. Minnie again was widowed in 2004. Minnie moved to Medford to be near her daughter before her passing. Her daughter said that those days were filled with the joy of looking forward to heaven and she would hum and sing many of her old favorite hymns. Minnie was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was always willing to tell you about her faith in God.
