Nancy Pearl Rice Johnson, 78 of Sparta, Tennessee passed from this life on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center in Monterey, Tennessee. She was born January 17, 1943 in Putnam County to Logan Rice and Alice Judd Rice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Johnson, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dayton and Thelma Johnson, 5 sisters, Ethel Rice, Grace Maynard, Edna Williams, Versa Caroline Maxwell, and Delorse Massa, 4 brothers, Lawrence, Houston, Arsen, and Joe Rice, and brother-in-law, Loyd Walker. Survivors include: Son- Bobby Johnson 2 Granddaughters- Kayla Lawson and Kim Maiden; 2 Great-Grandchildren- Ben Maiden and Marley Riddle; 2 Sisters- Wilma Rodgers and Oma Stidham of Putnam County; 2 Brothers- Cleburn (Carol) Rice and Bob (Carol) Rice of Putnam County; Brothers and Sister-in-Laws- Brenda (Junior) Johnson, Gwen (Tommy) Austin, and Linda Walker of Sparta, Sephfronia (Kenneth) Kirby of Warren County, Terry Johnson of New York, and Bernice Walker of Oklahoma. Special Friend- Raymond Anderson Special Little Girlfriend- Ginny Carmachael Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a host of friends and Church family. She was retired from Mallory Timers. She was a faithful member of the Sparta First Free Will Baptist Church for many years where she also served as church pianist and sang in the Church Trio. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. Services will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Rudy Oakes and Brother Kenneth Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve are Harold Williams, Paul Williams, Stacy Rice, Corey Austin, Kenneth Maxwell, and Raymond Anderson.
