Phyllis A. (Hammer) Wells, 79 years of age died Friday February 9, 2018 at Baptist Floyd in New Albany. She was born January 11, 1939 in New Albany, IN. to the late Herman and Clara (Libs) Hammer and was the widow of Gary D. Wells who died in 1987. Phyllis was a retired supervisor with the U.S. Census Bureau and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends and was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons; Doug and Barry Wells. Survivors include: Son, Gary "Phil" Wells (Carla); two grandchildren: Michelle Fischer (Dustin) and Phillip Wells (April); seven great-grandchildren: Dustin, Joseph, Autumn, Matthew, Breanna, Cooper, and Trey. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday February 13, 2018 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday February 13th, in the Kraft Funeral Service Charlestown Rd. Chapel. Private entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
