(Research): The Citizens Voice Arthur Davis Jr., 52, of Edwardsville went home to be with his heavenly father. He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Arthur was born on Jan. 5, 1954, son of the late Arthur Davis Sr. and the late Shirley Thomas Davis. Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a political activist in Edwardsville and served on many of the Edwardsville Borough's boards and committees. He coached the teeners league for many years until his failing health forced him to stop. He loved to write articles in our local newspapers. Arthur was a devout Democrat and loved being a Welshman. He will be remembered mostly for his quick wit, hardy laugh and devotion to others. He is finally without pain. He will be sadly missed and loved and remembered in our hearts forever. Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Shirley Boback, Courtdale; James Rushton, Owen Davis, Ann Reed, June Sonnenberg and Ruth Griffiths, all of Hanover Township; Mary Kupstas, Sweet Valley; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 from Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville, with the Rev. Michael Erikson, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, officiating. Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, 39 E.
