Warden Funeral services for Mr. Thomas H. Warden, 79, of Wee Dowee, AL, were conducted on Friday, May 23 at Liberty Grove Methodist Church in Wee Dowee. Burial was in Liberty Grove Cemetery. Mr. Warden died Wednesday, May 21. He was a barber and a veteran of World War II, having served in Germany. He also served as a Mason in East Detroit and a Shriner and deputy sheriff in Roseville, MI. Born June 24, 1924, in Livingston, he was the son of the late W.T. "Will" and Nancy Pearl (Holman) Warden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Hasker Warden, Jessie W. Warden, and Carl W. Warden; two sisters, Anna Mae Ledbetter and Willie B. Williams; his first wife of 25 years, Virginia (Woodford) Warden, of Calhoun, GA, who served as a captain in the United States Army Nursing Corp.; and his wife of about 15 years, Dorothy (Orr) Warden, formerly of Jonesboro, GA. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Williamson) Warden; three step-sons, Ricky Rochester, Jim Rochester, and Tommy Rochester; three sisters, Geneva Burris of Celina, Johnnye Dickerson of Livingston, and Auda B. Stewart of Overton County Nursing Home; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
