Mrs. Velma Smith died June 2, 2008 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born August 7, 1915 in Overton County to the late Willie A. and Ollie Gaw Coffman. She was a housewife. She was a member of Maxwell Chapel Church of God. She is survived by 2 sons, Clyde H. Taylor and Gerstle Taylor, both of Hilham; 3 brothers, Donald S. Coffman and James Paul Coffman, both of Hilham, and Jesse Coffman of Westland, MI; 5 grandchildren, Melissa Carr of Lebanon, Rita Nivens of Livingston, Sharon Ayers and Barbara Taylor, both of Hilham, and Douglas Taylor of Nashville; 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Norman Taylor and Doyle C. Smith, 9 brothers & sisters, and 1 granddaughter: Phyllis Hix. Burial was in Maxwell Chapel Cemetery, Hilham, TN.
