  • Walter Wethington Jr., 56, of Cheyenne died Aug. 25 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Wethington retired from the U.S. Air Force after 18 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a former co-owner of Automotive Repair Specialists. He married Cindy Litzsinger Nov. 16, 1963, in Denver, Colo. Mr. Wethington was a member of Creative Ministries. He was a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal - 4th Oakleaf Cluster, Vietnamese Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Wethington of Cheyenne; two daughters, Aleita Butterfield and Valerie Luegering, both of Cheyenne; his mother, Stella Wethington of West Lafayette, Ind.; four brothers, Jim Wethington of Gilbert, Ariz., Ray Wethington of Oxford, Ind., J.D. Wethington of Fowler, Ind., and Jeff Wethington of Fountain, Colo.; four sisters, Louise Adams of Seymour, Ind., Betty Wyles of Burlington, Iowa, Charlotte Christman of Otterbein, Ind., and Aline Wethington of West Lafayette; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, DeeDee Acree; and his father, Walter C. Wethington.
