Walter Lee Hughes was born on March 6, 1904 in Tennessee, the son of Joe Hughes and Virgie (Warden) Hughes. He was married to Sally -- . Working for DuPont Rayon Company and living in Old Hickory, he was 30 years old and married when he was in an automobile accident on Harding Pike, Williamson County on February 1, 1936. He died of his injuries the same day at Saint Thomas Hospital, Nashville, and was buried two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery.
