William "Bill" Alf Cantrell, of Clawson, Michigan passed away Friday, November 16, 2018. He was born is Sparta, Tennessee on November 12, 1936 to the late Ira Lee Brown Cantrell and Firmon Gist Cantrell. Bill married Jean Bennett on December 28, 1953. They moved to Royal Oak, Michigan in 1955. After three years, they moved to Phillips Avenue in Clawson, Michigan where they lived for 60 years. They enjoyed many years of travel and life together. Bill could fix anything. He worked at Devlieg Machine Company and then at Acme Manufacturing until he was 66 years old. While at Devlieg, he regularly traveled at least 45 weeks each year all across the U.S. and to many foreign countries, including Germany, South Korea, Japan, and China. Through the years, Bill also loved to travel around the U.S., especially Florida, with Jean and his children. Bill leaves behind his wife: Jean; his two children: Sherry (Len) and Alan (Sherrie); his two grandsons: Alex and Christopher; his sister: Hattie Jo; and several close relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
