William Irvin "Bill" Patrick of Clem, Braxton County, went to be with the Lord he faithfully served for so many years, on December 1, 2010, at his home, while surrounded by his loving family. He was 76. He was born August 3, 1934, the son of the late George I. and Elva Perrine Patrick. He was a faithful member of the Dessie Baptist Church for many years, where he served as deacon, trustee, church clerk/treasurer, song leader, and Sunday school teacher. He loved his Mountaineers and NASCAR. He was a member of the NRA and was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Birchard, Ray, Harold, and Eugene; and sisters, Kathleen and Jewell. Surviving siblings are his brother, Alton Dale Patrick and wife, "Skinny," of Gassaway; sisters, Verla Mae McLaughlin of Frametown, Gracie Hatch of Galesburg, Ill., and Claudine Dennison and husband, Johnny, of Gassaway; many nieces and nephews; and so many friends, loved ones, and special people in his life who will miss his beautiful smile. Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor Mark Minney, Elder Jon Rule, and Elder Leroy Pack officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
