COOKEVILLE - Funeral services for Willie Gene Hamlet, 59, of Cookeville, will be held Monday, September 16 at 1 p.m. at Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mansell Cemetery in Jackson County. Mr. Hamlet was dead on arrival at Cookeville General Hospital on Friday, September 13, 1991. Son of the late Willie and Mildred McCoin Hamlet, he was born in Jackson County on February 11, 1932. Mr. Hamlet was a retired roofer and US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the AA Alano Club since 1966 in Kenosha, Wisc. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Hamlet family includes his wife, Lylian Ballard Hamlet of Cookeville; sister Cora Bigelow of Owosso, Mi; 2 brothers, Richard and Jackie of Gainesboro.
