News and Tribune June 9, 2011 Anna Lee Libs Gesenhues 82; of Floyds Knobs A funeral Mass for Anna Lee Libs Gesenhues, 82, of Floyds Knobs, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 8, 2011. She was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, and a former dispatcher for Bob Smith Trucking Company. She was an excellent seamstress and cook, always ready to try something new. She was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Floyds Knobs to the late Martin and Caroline Zimmerman Libs. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gesenhues, of New Albany, and Lisa Mefford and her husband, Charlie, of Georgetown; brothers, Raymond Libs and his wife, Mary, and Irvin Libs and his wife, Jane, all of Floyds Knobs; sisters, Sr. Dolorita Libs, OSB, of Ferdinand, and Evelyn Baumann, of New Albany; granddaughter, Casey Baker and her husband, Sam; and great-grandson, Noah Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell P. "Sam" Gesenhues and sisters, Bertha Eckert, Mary Morthorst, and Dorothy Sprigler. The family extends special gratitude to the staff of Autumn Woods Health Campus for their tender care and to Travis Buchanan and Ruth Mosier whom she dearly loved. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany. There will be a prayer service 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
