She was born in Allons, Tennessee on October 25, 1940 to Oscar and Alma Lois (Ledbetter) Warden. Betty married Kenneth Eugene Rutter on September 19, 1970 in Cumberland, IN. She most recently worked for Rosche Diagnostic as a lab technician in Indianapolis for several years. Betty also worked for many years at Greenfield Banking Company as a teller and Western Electric as an assembler. She as a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Betty attended Cumberland Christian Church and Bethel Baptist Church. She liked reading and watching Johnny Carson and Carol Burnett tv shows. Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her children, Kathy Williams Major of Carmel, Mark (Connie) Williams of Owosso, MI, Scott Williams of Greenfield, and Malinda Williams of Westfield; 6 grandchildren, Brooke Carlson, Brandy Struble, Bryan Williams, Nicole Sumner, Alex Williams, and Lauren Sharritts; 10 great-grandchildren, Seth, Avery, Ashton, Cayman, Daisy, Violet, Dylan, Angelina, Alexis, and Xavier; and siblings, Jerry (Pam) Warden of Florida, Kenny (Linda) Warden of Texas, Barbara (Bill) Fralich of Greenfield, and Shirley Watson of Greenfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lois Warden; husband, Kenneth Rutter; and sister, Lorene Godbey. A private visitation and service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Dr. Randall Parker will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks when inside our building. We must limit the number of guests at a time and please practice social distancing.
