Book Charles Edward (Charlie) Book, 89, Palmyra, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Palmyra, he was the son of the late Edward Peter Book and Anna Margaret Jacobi Book. He graduated from Morgan Township High School in 1946, was a farmer and retired bus driver, served as president for the Harrison REMC board for many years, received the Sagamores of the Wabash award in 1998 and was a life-long member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Jim, Melvin and Joseph; a brother, Robert Book; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Book. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, the former Agnes Francis Andres; seven sons, Thomas (Karen), Stephen (Mary), Kenneth (Anna), Donald (Paula), Patrick (Cheryl), Marvin (Sandra) and David (Chris); a daughter, Rose Ann; a brother, Earl (Janie); a daughter-in-law, Carol; a sister-in-law, Donna; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Sunday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Funeral: Monday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
