Charles E. Fikes, 2541 Piney Grove Road, Nancy, died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 25, 1994, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was 62. A native of Clay County, Tenn., he was born Oct. 2, 1932, son of the late Clure L. and Willie Belle Chism Fikes. He was a retired mechanic for Dover Elevator Company, Dayton, Ohio; and a member of the Elevator Constructors Local No. 11 Union of Cincinnati, and Piney Grove Baptist Church No. 2. Survivors include two sons, Jacob Lou Fikes, Nancy, and Charles E. Fikes, Jr., Huber Heights, Ohio; two brothers, Richard Fikes, Nancy, and Lewis Fikes, Delaware, Ohio; two sisters, Elizabeth Sumner, Kettering , Ohio, and Patricia Comer, Byron, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Laura Fikes, Huber Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elmer Fikes. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Piney Grove Baptist Church No. 2 with the Rev. Earl Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery No. 2.
