Elmer L. Fikes of Nancy, Pulaski County, Kentucky died suddenly at his home at the age of 43. He came to Pulaski County, Kentucky from Dayton, Ohio. He operated Tri-State Nursery at Nancy, Kentucky. He was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church. He was survived by his wife, Wanda (Cootes) Fikes (married on June 8, 1950 at Wooton, Kentucky); his sons, Sgt. Clure F. Fikes of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Private Richard Fikes of Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, and James Edward Fikes of Nancy, Kentucky; his daughters, Rose Fikes of Nancy, Kentucky; his brothers, Charles Fikes of Dayton, Ohio, Richard Fikes of Dayton, Ohio, and Lewis Fikes of Taiwan; his sisters, Elizabeth Summer of Dayton, Ohio and Pat Coomer of Cerrtion, California; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clure Fikes and Willie (Chism) Fikes.
