NEW ALBANY TRIBUNE OBITUARY – 12/07/2003 Funeral services for Charles M. Dethy, 99, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery. He died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the home of his daughter in Bradford. He was a native of Floyds Knobs and a retired farmer and logger. He was the former Lafayette Township Trustee, former acting postmaster in Floyds Knobs for four years and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and St. Michael's Bradford Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Rosalie Schenck and husband, Bernie, Bradford, Dorothy Allen, Georgetown and Kay Hoehn and husband, Herbert, New Salisbury; two sons, Cletus Dethy and wife, Jean, Greenville and Jim Dethy and wife, Joan, Borden; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia and daughter, Sister Elvira Dethy, OSB. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
