He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edith Rigsby Murphy; his brother, Bobby Murphy, three sisters, Louise, Doris and Wanda. Buck proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Korea and Vietnam. He was a singer and guitarist who loved country music. He also loved his Fords and Lincolns Buck retired as a Millwright serving the Carpenter and Millwright Union local # 319. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his son Pete Monk, three stepsons David Monk (Diane), David Monk (Melissa), Scott Monk (Melissa); grandchildren: Wayne “Bubba”, Ethan, Trace, Shay, Day, Jacob and Emily. His family will gather with friends from 6-7 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Oakey’s Vinton chapel.
