Born in Murphy, N. Carolina, to George and Myrtle Hogsed, Etta was one of nine children. She was a resident of Barberton/Doylestown for 67 years and a member of Reimer Road Baptist Church. Etta enjoyed 57 years of marriage to her beloved late husband, Jewel; and a life-time of special memories created with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a gentle spirit, godly woman and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Joyce (Joe) Platek, Elaine (Herb) Matheny, Dale (Patti) Watkins and Wanda (Drew) Shippy; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday 10 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Jonathan Platek officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
