Jewel M. Watkins, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2002. A resident of Barberton/Doylestown for 56 years, he retired from PPG Industries with 31 years of service. He was a member of Ivy Log Masonic Lodge of Union County, Ga., and a member of Reimer Road Baptist Church. A loving husband and father, he will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Etta Mae; daughters, Joyce (Joseph) Platek, Elaine (Herbert) Matheny; son, Dale (Patti); daughter, Wanda (Drew) Shippy; grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Jonathan (Chrissy), Joseph III, Jennifer, Bryan (Monica), Rebecca (Clay), David (Johanna), Brent (Teri Ann), Brooke, Dylan, Graham; great- grandchildren, Reese and Micah; brother, Charlie Watkins; and sister, Annie Watkins.
