McClain Hershell D. McClain, 89, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Beech Grove. He was a resident of Indianapolis. He was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Celina, Tenn. His parents were Jess and Mary (Daily) McClain. Survivors include three sons, Jimmie "Don" McClain, Kenneth Floyd McClain and R.T. McClain, all of Indianapolis; six daughters, Wilma Gilpatrick of Indianapolis and Katherine Burris, Jean Rodgers, Faye Riley, Bonnie Boles and Sue Sells, all of Celina, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Joyce McClain; four brothers; and a granddaughter, Dawn Louise McClain. He was employed for 12 years by AMG as a punch press operator, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Church of Christ of Indianapolis. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
