Marvin McClain COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Marvin McClain, 91, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 6, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Thurs., Aug. 5, at the funeral home. Mr. McClain died on Wed., Aug. 4, 1999 at Masters Health Care Center. He was born on Aug. 24, 1907, in Scottsville, Ky., to the late Jesse and Mary Daly McClain. Mr. McClain was a retired farmer. He attended Gentrys Chapel Church. His family includes three sons and two daughters-in-law, Doyle and Linda McClain, Jack and Gale McClain, and Toby McClain, all of Cookeville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Leroy Jones of Cookeville, and Linda and Marion Richelle of Goodlettsville; a brother, Hershel McClain of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Melzona Copeland McClain. Pallbearers will be Jeff Jones, Danny and Matthew McClain, Kenny Stout, Richard Guthrie and Bobby Fisher. Bros. Burdette Randolph and Kenneth McClain will officiate at the services.
