He was a retired farmer and a US Navy veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife Anna Louise Bowman Cobble; 2 daughters, Linda Smith of Monroe, Martha Adkins of Cookeville; 2 sons, Joe Cobble, Algood, and David Cobble, Cookeville; 3 sisters, Dimple Danner, Livingston, Mae Copeland of Cookeville; Bessie Ward, Rickman; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
