Missouri, Marriage Records, 1805-2002, shows John True married Mary Catharine Archer, 22 Mar 1845, in Pike, Missouri. From The Windsor Review, February 15, 1894: JOHN M. TRUE DEAD John M. True, aged 73 years, a native of Virginia and for fifty years a resident of Pike County, died of the grip. For twenty-five years he had been tollgate keeper on the Louisiana and Bowling Green road, and died at his post with his hands clutching the toll-gate rope.
