GAINESBORO - Funeral services for Johnny "Monk" Hamlet, 62, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will be in Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 23, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Hamlet passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born January 12, 1950, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clyde Hamlet and Judy Goolsby Hamlet. On February 17, 1970, he was married to the late Reita K. Hamlet, who passed away September 10, 2012. He was a brick mason, and affiliated with the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Barbara Sue Burroughs; and 4 Nephews: Lewis Allen, Terry Mabry, Jeff Burroughs, and Dwayne Burroughs.
