Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery with military honors conducted by Veterans Honor Guard consisting of VFW Post 6277 and VVA Post 741. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 29, at the funeral home. Mr. McClain died on Mon., Oct. 25, 1999, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, Va. He was born on Jan. 17, 1948, in Cookeville to the late Marvin Dee and Marjorie Rector McClain. Mr. McClain was an optician. He was a 1965 graduate of Cookeville High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. McClain was a member of the Fauquier Lions Club and served as Membership Chairman. His family includes his wife, Mary Steckbeck McClain of New Baltimore; two sons, Phillip Mark and Brian D. McClain, both of New Baltimore; and four sisters, Tommie Stout, Barbara Little, and Wanda Powell, all of Cookeville, and Patricia Howard of Sparta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Emogene Bowman.
