Alfred Wood was the son of Clement Wood and Hannah Alldridge (both buried at this cem.); *see his father's gravesite for his siblings. He married 19 Jul 1840 Sylvania "Sylvanie" Allred (buried at this cem.); they had the following children:Margaret E., Thomas C., William A., Mary J., Sarah M., and John M. Wood. Alfred received 17 1/2 Acres from hs father on Jun 7, 1848; on May 28, 1879, he sold a parcel of land for $41,25 to the president, directors, and company of Glenwood Cem., including the graveyard known as Wood Grave Yard, containing 2 acres, one road and eight poles. After he died, his widow and heirs sold a one acre tract to WM Bayless as Trustee of the Missionary Baptist Chburch for a place of worship. This tract of land bordered the Glenwood Cem. and the public road and was purchased for $35.
