We all will cherish and hold dear to our hearts our memories of "Baby Dave." We will remember his smile, his laugh, his sense of humor and the way he turned his head with a sparkle in his eye when he would talk to you. Each of us has special memories of how David touched our lives. We all have truly been blessed by knowing and loving him. David loved the Jack Farm. He enjoyed being around his cattle and helping his dad. He was very proud of having his own tractor-trailer. He enjoyed seeing the country as he drove, but was always happy to get back home. David had a dream of his Uncle Dave building a home for him on the Jack Farm. That dream did not happen in the way he and his family wished for. He will be laid to rest in the Jack family cemetery near Exchange, up on the hill overlooking the Jack Farm, which he always called "God's Country," because it is so beautiful and you can see for miles. David has inherited a heavenly home, for he knew and believed that Jesus endured, suffered and gave his life for him and all of us so that some day we could be in that heavenly home together. We love you, Baby Dave! May you rest in peace. "Everything is going to be all right." Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Gassaway Baptist Church with the Rev. David Fisher, the Rev. Clara Peggs and the Rev. William Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack family cemetery, Exchange. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family of David L. Jack Jr. requests that donation may be made to the Baby Dave Scholarship Fund, c/o Bank of Gassaway, P.O. Box 40, Gassaway, WV 26624. The scholarship will be awarded to future Braxton County High School graduates who are seeking a career in truck driving. The Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, is in charge of arrangements.
