Braxton Citizens' News February 16, 2016 David L. Jack, Sr. David L. Jack, Sr., 66, of Exchange, passed away February 10, 2016. He was born January 3, 1950 a son of the late William Walter and Virginia Louise Metheny Jack. David was a 1967 graduate of Gassaway High School. Early on he was a clerk for the Braxton County Commission. He was head of the summer youth program in Burnsville. He also assisted in the student co-op programs, veterans’ training programs and conducted schooling of Instruction for the Election Officials. He received his Associate’s degree in Business from the University of Charleston. David also obtained two Bachelor’s degrees from Glenville State College. The certificates he held were in Business Principles, Business Math and Social Studies. He also taught school in Lewis County and was an instructor for the Adult Basic Education Program. David was a representative for Mutual of Omaha and the Benefits Coordinator for National Small Business United working in Braxton and surrounding counties. David was a member of Cutlip’s United Methodist Church. David enjoyed being a farmer and relished in his title of grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, friends, coworkers, people of Braxton County, and all those whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by son, David “Baby Dave” Lynn Jack, Jr.; brother, Walter Lane Jack, Sr. David is survived by his wife, Barbara Jack; daughters, Karen Abraham and husband, Dale and Lisa Keown and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Jocelyn Rayne, Mason Jack, SkyLynn Davidson, Mallory Dawn, Teahya, Isaac, Ian and Catherine Grace; brother, Henry Jack and wife, Dolly; sisters, Jo Ellen Smith and husband, Erman and Lou Ann Gaines and husband, Lloyd; several nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Gassaway Baptist Church with the Rev. David Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Jack Family Cemetery, Exchange.
