COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Etta Franklin Frizzell, 85, of Cookeville will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home. Mrs. Frizzell died on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born on Sept. 18, 1917, in Jackson County to the late Byrd and Katy Hammock Franklin. Mrs. Frizzell was a homemaker and charter member of West View Baptist Church. She was valedictorian of her graduating class in 1937 at Cookeville High School. Her family includes two sons and a daughterinlaw, Bob and Eva Frizzell, and David Frizzell of Cookeville; a daughter and soninlaw, Jo Ann and James Herron of Cookeville; a sister, Estella Jackson of McConnelsville, Ohio; a grandson and his wife, Randy and Lori Herron; three greatgrandchildren, Lani, Lance and Brady Herron; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Neil Frizzell; three brothers, Shirley, Joe and Reid Franklin; and three sisters, Pearlie Lee, Julia Bilyeu and Lucille Vickers.
