My dad told me his parents had a son before him. I believe his mother shared this information with him. He did not know if the child was stillborn, a miscarriage, or died after birth, but his parents did know it was a son. Bertha and Pete were married in November of 1917 and it is possible they had a child sometime in the summer of 1918. Buster was born August 10, 1919 and Bertha would have become pregnant sometime in the early part of November 1918. Allowing some time for Bertha to recover from her first pregnancy, I believe the first son would have been born between June and September of 1918. Since he was not named it most likely was a stillborn birth.
