(Medical):Billy had an artifical valve installed in his heart in the late 1960s. The operation was done at the Deboraah Hospital in Browns Mills, New Jersey. About 25 years later he was checked to see if the connections were still pliable and they were. The in the late 1990s at a regular check up he was advised to have the valve replaced. He was not feeling ill in any way nor did he have any symptoms of heart failure. The operation to replace the artifical valve was also done Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, New Jersey. I believe some problem occurred during the operation, but the hospital never admistted they did anything wrong. After the operation Billy could not swallow and the only food he was able to eat was some yogurt. He also had periods of not being able to breath and would be placed on a ventilator. Billy was in and out of the hospital and had a few long stays in a nursing home. The last time he was released from the hospital and went home he had to have extended care in the home and could not breath without the ventilator and his quality of life was very low. He descided he didn't want to live the rest of his life hooked up to machines and requested the not hook him up to the ventilator and he died on his own terms.
