Betty L. Lockhart, born Feb. 27, 1933, went ?Home? to be with the Lord on April 1, 2005, at Thomas Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kay Albert Lockhart in 1968; her mother, Eunice Bragg Dobbins in 1965; her father, Rev. C.C. ?Jack? Dobbins in 1988; her brother, Roy Edwin Dobbins in 1996; and two special nieces, Rachel and Beverly. She lived in Nitro most of her adult life, and was a faithful Christian at Nitro First Baptist Church. She worked many years as a wonderful waitress and raised four children that will miss her very much. She is survived by daughters, Karen Adkins and her husband, Ralph, and daughter, Megan, of Marmet, Sandra McKivergen and sons, T.A. and Jay, of Nitro; Katherine Criniti and her husband, Bubby, and stepsons, Michael and Steven of St. Albans; son, Jeffre Lockhart and his fiance, Annette, of Cross Lanes; five brothers, Robert Dobbins of Gassaway, W.Va., Ronald Dobbins of Grafton, Ohio, Kent Dobbins, Rodney Dobbins, and Donald Dobbins of Clem, W.Va.'; three sisters, Anna Jean Lucas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Carolyn Patrick of Clem, W.Va., Linda Stine of Charleston; and many in-laws; nieces; and nephews, who will miss her greatly. The service will be Sunday, April 3, at First Baptist Church with visitation at 2 p.m. and a celebration of life service to be held at 3 p.m. by Dr. Lawrence Hoptry. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, by nephew R.C. Dobbins at Dessie Baptist Church in Clem, W.Va., with a graveside service to follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery at Gassaway, W.Va. The family would like to thank everyone who played a role in the life of this wonderful, loving person.
